Keinen studied painting with Tōkyō Umegata and Hyakunen Suzuki and later he taught at the Kyōto Prefecture School of Painting. Keinen used the nihonga style of Japanese painting for his flower and (or) bird art and twenty-six examples are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Keinen is best known for his picture books.
